Thommessen's comments
The collaboration reflects the view that climate change is an issue that strikes a broad range of sectors, including the investment sector, and that the investment sector can make valuable contributions to the solution to climate change.
The initiative does not impose any legally binding obligations on the members, but forms a forum that encourages investors to mobilise capital for the low carbon transition and to ensure resilience to the impact of a changing climate by collaborating with business, policy makers and fellow investors.
The IIGCC reports to support its members in better integrating climate risks and opportunities into their investment processes.
