About
Norsif's aim is to be a professional forum that promotes knowledge of and contributes to the development of responsible investment, and to raise awareness of responsible and sustainable investment practices in the Norwegian financial industry and among other stakeholders.
Norsif organises meetings and conferences, and has published several reports and guidelines on e.g. on mandatory reporting, such as the implementation of the EU Sustainability Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR). Norsif has also cooperated with Oslo Stock Exchange to develop voluntary guidelines for corporate responsibility reporting for listed companies

Thommessen's comments
In our view, becoming a member of Norsif is uncontroversial, and several of Norwegian asset owners, managers, banks and other actors are members of Norsif. The forum issues general guidelines and reports on various ESG matters, such as responsible investment, sustainability reporting and ESG compliance. Membership of the forum provides access to the Norsif Knowledge Base, which contains all Norsif general guidelines and reports, reporting templates and other learning materials, as well as access to Norsif meetings and courses.
Members do not commit to any single understanding of, or strategy related to, responsible and sustainable investments, but can participate in the forum to e.g. discuss and exchange information, ideas and experiences.
